Other Services
Captain or Mate for Hire I am avaliable for hire
to fish, either as a Captain or Mate, aboard your boat.
Prices are negotiable. We would need to discuss this
prior to any commitments.
Non- Fishing Tours I am avaliable for family
trips to Cape Lookout, Shackleford Banks, and other
remote beaches. I can drop you off and pick you up
around your schedule. I can take Eco trips to view
Dolphins, Wild Ponies, Ospreys and other wildlife. I can
do Bird Watching trips for Pelagic and Coastal Birds. I
can show Coastal Real Estate from the water. I prefer to
do Fishing trips, but these other trips can be a nice
change of pace. I can combine a Fishing trip for the
guys, after we drop off the girls! Prices for these
kinds of trips would be negotiable. Some trips would be
very easy for me, thus very cheap for you!
Surf fishing Guide I am sometimes avaliable at
either Cape Hatteras or Ocracoke to do surf fishing
trips. I spend a lot of time on these beaches and can provide valuable tips and insight to someone new to this area. For a complete newcomer, I can provide all the tackle necessary for fishing. I would need some advance notice to supply rods and reels for more than 2 people. I normally work these trips by the hour or by the tide. Price would vary with individual situations.
What to Bring
Be sure to bring food and drinks. No need to bring a cooler that will take up deck space. I will have a cooler onboard with plenty of ice for food and drinks. For most fishing trips, you can expect to have quite a few pounds of quality fish at the end of the day, so plan on having a cooler waiting when we come in.
Be sure to bring some rain gear if there a chance that you'll need it. Also, if you own a pair of polarized sunglasses be sure to bring them. Being able to things in the water will add much pleasure to your fishing experience. You may want to bring along a camera, however I will have my digital camera onboard, so I can arrange for you to get pictures. I also keep a set of certified scales on my boat, so we don't have to guess at what a fish might weigh.Rods and reels and all tackle are furnished, however you are more than welcome to bring your own gear. Warning: Please have good line and a smooth drag on your reels or you will lose fish! Fly fishermen need to bring their own tackle. Depending on my schedule, I might be able to clean fish. I am also a big advocate of catch and release. If an angler wants to release everything he catches, I'm all for it. One final thing, Please keep your intake of alcoholic beverages in moderation. Excessive drinking quickly becomes a Safety issue on a 25 foot boat.
